Limestone, soil pH

Our lime application helps to keep the chemistry of your soil in balance, so you can have a thicker, greener and healthier lawn.

Limestone “sweetens” your soil. In areas where soil is naturally acidic, limestone is extremely important to growing healthy turf. Limestone helps to improve turf color and density, helps in controlling thatch buildup and increases root development.

Limestone affects color, thatch and root development

Howard County Limestone, Baltimore County Lawn Care Company

When your soil pH is to low or acidic, it needs limestone to bring it back into balance. Soil that is too acidic causes fertilizers and important nutrients to become locked up and thus unavailable to the grass plant.

Locked up nutrients may result in the grass to become thin and yellow, thatch can build up faster and root growth can slow down.

The lawn in this condition, even with proper fertilization, can’t make use of the nutrients applied to become thick and stay green.

We suggest annual limestone applications for acidic lawns. It helps everything we do work better even better. That’s what makes limestone such a great value for you.
